Homework Guide |
At Lowther we provide homework to enrichen and broaden our home school partnership in support of pupils' learning journey. We hope it provides opportunities for learning beyond the classroom setting. Here you'll find some fun and challenging projects to enjoy at anytime. |
The return of the whole school homework challenge saw a fantastic response by the children. We had loads of quality entries, their poster designs to advertise the Summer Fair were fantastic. The office team judged them all carefully and shortlisted these four by Aimee (Y4), Lolly (Y4), Francesca Y (Rec) and Florence (Nursery). Marsh and Parsons chose the final winner which went up on the advertising boards. Super work children! |
Do you have a favourite plant, animal or dinosaur? Maybe you've visited the museum and would like to draw your favourite living thing from the collections? You can use anything to create your picture - crayons, felt tips, paint, collage - the list goes on.
(Now closed for entries to the competition, but you might like to do this anyway just for good practice, fun, make a card, poster, etc, etc). Here's a video showcasing some of the fantastic artworks already completed... |

My idea for this Challenge came from a close friend of mine - the one and only Sock Monkey. He's a great character who's actually made from an old sock. Now at Lowther we take sustainability and looking after our world seriously. We all have things at home that we either don't use or are a bit tatty. Well the challenge is to make something cool from an item that is recycled or re-used. It can be anything - let your creativity take you on a journey. Here are some ideas to help get you thinking... |
Here's some of the amazing results... |

Mr T’s Challenge: Design an event for Sports Day. We usually have a series of team events in the morning and then running races in the afternoon. Your challenge is to design a new event for the morning team events. All you need to do is decide what you think would be a great event - and then show that either through a drawing, a model, perhaps you could make a short movie of you doing the event, perhaps write a set of instructions. It really is up to you - be creative but be practical and realistic too. | ||||
